Should You Buy The Toshiba L675 Laptop?
![]()
There are lots of different Toshiba laptops to choose from and it can be a real minefield to choose the right one for your needs! One of your major considerations should be ‘what exactly will you use it for’? This will go a long way in helping you decide on a machine that has the computing power you need.

The Toshiba l675 is probably for those people that require a more powerful machine and wish to run resource intensive applications and demand reliability. I have used the L675 for a few months now and I have to say that overall I’m very impressed!
The first thing you will love about this machine is the 17.3 inch screen, it rocks! I like the crispness of the display and also it’s relatively well lit and the viewing angles are fairly generous. Some of the other Toshiba models require very precise viewing angles, but I found the L675 a little more forgiving. It features the TruBrite TFT technology and offers a resolution of 1600×900, so it’s great for movies and games too.
The Toshiba L675 looks attractive and has a sleek black case, it looks fairly robust and due to its size, looks more like a business machine. I found the touchpad to be very responsive and there are two good sized buttons, the keyboard is nice to use as well, perhaps a little noisy but that seems to be common with most mid range laptops these days.
The L675 comes complete with plenty of on board computing power, it features the Mobile Intel HD graphics card and has 64-1696MB of allocated graphic memory, so the performance for 3d games is manageable. It also has a built in webcam and microphone. You will find the battery performance to be acceptable as well, mine lasts around 4 hours with intensive use, which is pretty good.
The Toshiba l675 also comes complete with 4GB of ram built in, which I like very much, it helps all my software run much faster, especially with the popular 2.4GHz i3-370M Intel Core processor which does its job well. This machine is definitely quick and doesn’t hang around! Windows 7 runs perfectly and the machine will come with Home Premium pre-installed, although I personally like to upgrade to Ultimate.
You also get a 500GB hard drive which offers plenty of storage, I was able to get my whole music collection of 70K + music tracks on it plus all my other software applications, and I still have lots of free space! There is also the 8X double layer DVD drive which also supports Labelfish printing.

As far as connectivity goes, Toshiba have done an OK job by providing Ethernet (10/100), VGA, the usual mic & headphone jacks, eSATA, card reader and 3 USB ports. In all honesty I would have liked to have seen more than 3 USB ports on this machine, but I can usually just about get away with 3. At least it’s not as bad as some of their other models like the Toshiba c660 which only has 2!
Overall I like this laptop and for the price it’s not bad, although it has to be said that you could find a similar spec machine for less money. But if you are a fan of Toshiba and their reliability (like I am) then it’s a worthy purchase.
The Toshiba L675 will come with a ton of software, plus the usual charger, battery and manual, plus you get the 1 year hardware guarantee form Toshiba directly. Overall not a bad buy at all.
Our over all rating for the Toshiba L675 is….
